A woman had her handbag snatched in Church Street, Xewkija this morning whilst on her way to the bank to deposit a sum of money.
Two hooded men in a car approached the woman and one of the men left the car to snatch the woman’s handbag. The two men then fled the scene and the car was found abandoned nearby a short time later.
Fortunately the woman was not injured, but Police said that the stolen handbag contained a substantial amount of money.
Duty Magistrate Paul Coppini has appointed several experts to assist in an inquiry and Police investigations are continuing.
