The General Workers Union has once again suspended the industrial action in hospitals and health centres after a meeting with the Director for Industrial Relations.
Following the meeting, the Government and the GWU agreed to discuss all the points that have given rise to the industrial dispute involving nursing aides, health assistants, care workers and assistant care workers, with the aim of finding an agreement which satisfies both sides.
The union has said that it is suspending the industrial action for three weeks, during which time intensive meetings, if need be even on a daily basis, will be held to find a solution to the dispute.
