The Gozo branch of the Malta Red Cross has bought a trailer equipped for disaster response with the support of the Bank of Valletta.
Malta Red Cross Gozo branch chairman Frank Farrugia said the trailer was designed to provide additional resources during incidents involving multiple casualties.
"Equipped with generators, stretchers, health care and kitchen equipment, the disaster response trailer carries enough health equipment to set up a clinic that can house up to 15 patients and also a kitchen for the rescuers and patients that can run up to 100 in number," he said.
BOV's sponsorship was presented by BOV Gozo branch manager Jack Thewma during a visit to the Red Cross headquarters where he had a look at the newly acquired trailer.
