Gozo ferry MV Malita to be out of service for 4 weeks

Gozo Channel Company Limited has announced that the MV Malita will be undergoing its routine obligatory docking during the four weeks following the 7th of November.

To compensate for the decrease in vehicle capacity, Gozo Channel Company Limited will make an additional three schedule trips during weekdays.

During this docking period, all cargo trips to Sa Maison will be cancelled. Operators are kindly requested to use the Cirkewwa trip for those five weeks.

This temporary adjustment to the schedule will mean that during weekdays:

• The 6.45am trip from both Cirkewwa and Mgarr will be substituted by two trips at 6.30am and 7am.

• The two early afternoon trips scheduled at 12.15pm and 1.15am will be increased to four trips, performed instead at 12noon, 12.30pm, 1pm and 1.30pm. A shuttle service will also be provided if demand so necessitates. During weekends, there will be an additional trip in the early afternoon, as a result of which the trips will be spaced out to 45-minute intervals. This means that the trips which usually are operated between 12.15pm and 13.15pm will be replaced with trips at 12noon, 12.45pm and 1.30pm.

In the meantime, the company will be doing its utmost to reduce the vessel’s stay at the shipyard.

Gozo Channel said it took such precautions in order to render a safe, reliable and timely service and apologises for any inconvenience caused.
