The Human Resources Office of the Gozo Diocese was recently asked to help the victims of the cyclone 'Nargis' which hit the population of Myanmar (Burma) at the beginning of May. This cyclone was the worse disaster to have hit the country and left massive devastation in its wake.
A collection was arranged throughout the parishes and churches of Gozo and a total of €10,371.24 was raised. The collected donations were then sent to Caritas International through Caritas Malta.
Bishop Mgr. Mario Grech thanked all Gozitans for their generosity and remarked that they always contribute generously to such disasters.
Anyone wishing to make a further contribution can contact Rev. Michael Borg at the Human Resources Office of the Gozo Curia.
