Justin Falzon, a Gozitan artist studying at the Lorenzo de' Medici Art Institute in Florence, was awarded first place for his self-portrait at an art exhibition held at the Uffizzi Centre in Florence.
The contest comprised a juried exhibition featuring artists from all disciplines and several nations, including the US, Russia, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, Canada, Iceland, UK, US Virgin Island and Malta.
Mr Falzon will be completing his two-year course in May and then intends to further his studies.
