GO Plus has announced that it has launched two new channels - Cartoonito on channel 405 and TCM-2 on channel 702 - as part of its Gold+ package bringing the total channel line up to a staggering 50 channels. The wide-ranging package includes top international channels offering a pleasant mix of music, fashion, entertainment, news, documentary, sports, cartoons and many other topics to satisfy consumer requirements.
Cartoonito is a preschool children’s TV channel targeting children aged between 2 to 5 years, is gender neutral and designed to help preschoolers explore their world in a fun and imaginative way. What makes Cartoonito exclusive is its simultaneous appeal to children and their parents.
The shows are a healthy merge of education, interaction and entertainment. Airing daily from 7am to 8pm on GO Plus channel 405, Cartoonito will offer preschool children a vast array of high-quality live-action content with strands such as ‘Go And Get A Grown Up’ throughout the day as well as animated shows including the all-time popular Barney, Hi-5, Animal Stories, Blanche, Big Foot Presents Meteor and the mighty Monster Trucks, Ellen’s Acres, Fluffy Gardens, Caillou and Pororo.
The channel’s forte is the soft learning of French in the interstitials via six unique characters called the Cartoonitos. It will gradually extend segments of the interstitials to introduce live-action, short-form content, exclusively commissioned for the channel. The French elements air between 12noon and 7pm
Meanwhile, the second of the two new channels, TCM 2, will broadcast from 8pm on GO Plus channel 702 and is set to complement its sister channel TCM, which draws on a library of the 20th century movies from Hollywood’s golden age to contemporary classics.
TCM 2 provides further choice for the existing movie-loving audience by celebrating the original classics from Hollywood’s history. It also gives film heritage enthusiasts the chance to delight in universally loved films such as The Wizard of Oz, North By Northwest, The Maltese Falcon, Dr Zhivago and Casablanca. Helping to enrich the cinematic experience, audiences will also be given the chance to sing-a-long with some of the most enchanting musicals ever produced. TCM 2’s schedule will also include authentic content like its OFF SET interviews where current movie stars and directors talk about their love of original Hollywood.
