GO launches a new and revamped Sports channels line-up

GO-sports-+.jpgGO Plus is enhancing its digital television offering by launching a new and revamped Sports+ package featuring a greater variety of international sporting events and team channels. This was announced by GO Chief Executive Officer David Kay.

The new Sports+ line-up on channels 851 and 852 now includes a range of top quality sporting events featuring football, rugby, golf, tennis, horseracing and boxing. Some of the football tournaments GO Plus will be airing include four consecutive seasons of the English FA Cup, the home matches of the English national senior and under 21 teams and the Community Shield. Other football tournaments include the Amsterdam Tournament and the Dubai Cup.

With regards to rugby, GO Plus is airing the Guinness Premiership, Heineken Cup, EDF Energy Cup, Churchill Cup, England Autumn Internationals and Celtic Union matches.

In tennis, GO Plus will be airing Wimbledon and the ATP Masters Series starting in 2008. Golfers can also enjoy full coverage of the European PGA tournaments and the Majors including the US Open, the PGA Open as well as the Ryder Cup.

Horseracing fans can enjoy the Grand Prix of France as well as tournaments from Sweden and France, whilst boxing fans will enjoy the Sports Network (a minimum of 5 fights) and the Sauerland (a minimum of 5 fights) apart from local boxing.

GO Plus launched also the Club+ package, which gives football enthusiasts the opportunity to follow full coverage of all English Premier League, Champions League and Carling Cup matches for the following teams on their respective club channels: Manchester United (starts January 2008) - MUTV channel 860; Liverpool - Liverpool TV channel 861; Arsenal - Arsenal TV channel 862; Tottenham Hotspurs - Spurs TV channel 862; and Chelsea - Chelsea TV (starts October 2008).

One can subscribe to Sports+ for a monthly fee of Lm4.10/ €9.55, which will also include Club+ for free. Alternatively, one can subscribe solely to Club+ for a monthly fee of Lm2.15/ €5.
