Gift Of Life said that they congratulate the Malta Labour Party for the stand taken against parts of a resolution referring to a woman's right to abortion proposed at the Congress of the Socialist International Women held in Athens recently.
Gift of Life stated that they are delighted that the Labour Party Women's section in their objections said that their "organization is totally against abortion and that the right of the unborn to life was viewed as the very first human right?." Gift of Life also said that they hoped this stand will not only be taken on an international level but that the Maltese Government and the opposition will collaborate to affirm this position as soon as possible through an amendment in the Constitution of Malta that clearly extends this right to life to the unborn child.
