Over 50 youths from Ghajnsielem have accepted an invitation to join thousands of young people from all over Europe visiting Loreto, Italy this Summer for the Italian National Youth Meeting. The Pope will be meeting Italian young people from the 28th of August till the 2nd of September. The Italian youths have invited other young Europeans to share their experiences and make new acquaintances. The Ghajnsielem Parish, together with the youths who will be travelling to Italy, recently held a car wash marathon to raise funds and help with their flight costs. The event was held behind the St Joseph Band Club premises and was a great success, with more than 30 cars washed by hand in just a few hours. A Football Tournament was also held and several stands sold books, plants and other items to help in the raising of funds.
