The village of Ghajnsielem and in particular, the feast of Our Lady of Loreto, will feature prominently in a new biography dedicated to the life of the famous Maltese Musical Conductor, Major Anthony Aquilina.
Ghajnsielem's feast was one of Aquilina's favourites and in fact he composed several marches such as 'Viva x-Xemx' and 'Il-Madonna ta' Loreto' which are still synonymous with the feast of Our Lady of Loreto.
The "Duke of Connaught" Band Club of Birkirkara for example, in the 1940's and early 1950's used to take such an important part in the Ghajnsielem feast under the baton of Mro. Anthony Aquilina.
Several members of the St Joseph Band Club committee will be present for the official launch of the book which will take place on the 31st of May. The name of this biography is "Is-Surmast tal-Marci Maltin"
