The response for the Ghajnsielem Blood Drive was so positive that the closing time had to be extended by 2 hours to accommodate all the donors who were constantly flowing into the St Joseph Band Club.
The club was literally transformed into a blood donation center and in just a few hours, over 50 volunteer donors took part in this activity. The event started at 8.30am and finally ended at 4.00pm.
This activity was held to commemorate the 80th Anniversary of the St Joseph Band Club. It was held in collaboration with the Malta Red Cross Gozo and the Malta National Blood Transfusion.
The Band Club committee said it was extremely pleased with the response and for the fact that the people of Ghajnsielem had responded so positively to this initiative.
The Band Club committee is already busy planning another Blood Drive, which will be held during the so called 'Ghajnsielem Week' in December.
