Free phone numbers now accessible to Melita customers

MelitaFollowing the review of the framework for free phone services in the 800 range, Melita telephony customers have gained access for calls to all free phone numbers. Similarly, fixed-line users on third party networks can now call free phone numbers registered on Melita's network.

This scenario also facilitates the hosting of free phone numbers since now, Melita and the other existing fixed-line operator can both host such numbers.

Melita says that their fixed-line telephony service offers its customers the cheapest fixed-line rate for €5.99 per month (VAT included) and 100 free minutes of talk-time to any network for every new fixed-line subscription. New customers switching to Melita's fixed-line telephony can keep their existing 21 numbers for free; and can also benefit from great offers when porting their number. At just €0.01c2 per minute for calls to any fixed line network and €0.23c per minute for calls to mobile networks, Melita's per-second billing structure provides the best value ever.

"We are continuously working to develop our services further, including fixed-line digital telephony, to fit the needs of our customers. This decision on free phones reinforces that commitment and provides added benefits to well over 50,000 subscribers connected to Melita's fixed-line network," said Jonathan Dalli, Melita's Marketing Manager for Internet and Telephony.

"Melita's fixed-line telephony has been experiencing steady growth in subscriptions as customers are increasingly becoming aware of our cheapest fixed-line call-rates. Melita's fixed-line telephony is by far the most affordable quality digital telephony service available in the Maltese Islands," continued Mr. Dalli.

For further information and to connect to Melita's fixed-line telephony, log on to www.melita.com or call Melita on 27 270 270.
