The Health Department has advised that with immediate effect, Statin, a medicine to reduce cholesterol, will be available free of charge to people over 75 years of age who have high cholesterol levels.
In addition, patients who suffer from bad heart circulation, have suffered a heart attack, have had a percutaneous coronary intervention, or a coronary artery bypass, will also be entitled to have the medicine free even if they do not have high cholesterol.
