There has been a slight decline in the number of passengers using the Gozo ferries in the first quarter of this year, but the number of cars carried increased by 3,815 to 184,172.
National Statistics Office figures show that the ferries carried a total of 618,760 passengers, which is 7,238 less than in the same quarter of the previous year.
The ferries made a total of 4,310 crossings between Malta and Gozo, an increase of 72 or 1.7 per cent.
The MV Malita carried 276,824 passengers, 44.7 per cent of the total.
