The San Lawrenz Local Council recently held a short ceremony announcing the results of the ground fireworks competition, which was held at the recent Dwejra 3D event. The competition was held for the first time this year, and was welcomed by both the participants and also by the public who attended in large numbers.
Two different companies won first prize, the winners were Noel Farrugia and Antonio Portelli. The mayor commented that a high level of work had been achieved and that Gozo should be proud of the high artistic level that exists on the island. He said that both the jury and members of the public that were present shared the same sentiments.
The Mayor also asked the participants for their views, to help formulate a better organization of the event in the future. He thanked all the participants, especially the San Lawrenz Festa Committee that had greatly supported the activity.
