During the third quarter of 2006, 1,216,257 passengers used the Gozo Ferries, indicating a marginal decrease of 0.2% over the same quarter last year.
The total number of passenger vehicles carried by the ferries increased by 2.9% to 298,066 over the corresponding quarter in 2005.
During the summer months between July and September, 5,558 trips were made between Malta and Gozo, representing a marginal change over the same quarter in 2005.
The National Statistic Office reported that M.V.Malita carried 571,239 passengers or 47.0% of the total passengers in this quarter.
The other two Gozo Channel ferries, M.V. Ta’ Pinu and M.V. Gaudos, carried 354,864 and 290,154 passengers respectively.
