An art exhibition, entitled De-Coding Beauty, by the renowned Gozitan artist George Scicluna, is to be held at the Parliamentary Secretariat for Tourism at Auberge D'Italie, Merchants Street, Valletta. The exhibition is to be inaugurated by the Hon. Dr. Mario De Marco, Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism on Saturday 12th of April at 7.30pm.
This exhibition shows sketches dating back to the early 90's when George's distinctive style was beginning to emerge. He then moved on to large-scale monochrome paintings that depict the statues of the Old Masters.
Characteristic of the next period is a series of paintings 'composition of a girl' which carry the style further on. Following this phase, one then arrives at the most recent paintings where colour becomes more prominent.
The aim of this exhibition is to show the gradual evolvement and development of the very distinctive 'George Scicluna Style'.
