The society Wirt Ghawdex has written to the Commissioner of Lands, the Superintendence of Cultural Heritage and the Committee of Guarantees with regard to the state of the Xlendi Tower “which after the massive damage it received last winter, nothing has been done”.
Wirt Ghawdex said it was concerned that although it wrote to the relevant authorities when the damage occurred, to date nothing has been done to safeguard this heritage.
The society claimed that the Cultural Heritage Act places clear responsibilities on the relevant authorities who are bound to intervene on such occasions.
