Heritage Malta is organising a course entitled Certificate Course in Caring for Historic Houses which is primarily intended for homeowners, professionals and crafts persons and others involved in the caring of houses of character and historic houses in Malta. There is a growing interest in the conservation and conversion of these buildings but not all the work that is being carried out is guaranteeing their conservation.
The course will help participants to appreciate better the urban development of our old towns and villages and the architectural development within them. It will also give guidance on the best practices which are to be used in the conservation, restoration, rehabilitation and use of these houses. This will give better knowledge on what is possible to do yourself and when the professional needs to be called in.
The 10-hour course will take place at Heritage Malta's Head Office in Merchants Street on Thursday 22nd, Tuesday 27th and Thursday 29th May, and Tuesday 3rd and Thursday 5th June between 18:00hrs and 20:00hrs and will be delivered by experts who have been professionally trained in the field and who have several years of experience. The final session will be held on site in Zejtun. Heritage Malta is offering this course at a special introductory price of Euros 60 for the general public and Euros 50 for Heritage Malta members. The closing date for applications is Thursday 15th May. The course is being sponsored by Attard & Co Industrial Ltd.
