A rescue vessel of the Armed Forces Maritime Squadron was called into action yesterday, to rescue a couple in an inflatable dinghy who had become trapped in a cave near Qala. The cave was situated in the vicinity of the Qala Quarry, which is at the limits of Qala.
A team of divers eventually rescued the couple, a male and a female in their late 50’s and 40’s respectively, the couple were then escorted by the AFM to the safety of calmer waters.
