The government yesterday announced new fuel prices as from today. The price per litre of unleaded petrol and for LRP has gone up by 3c in each case while diesel has gone up by 1c6 per litre.
Kerosene now costs 1c6 more while light heating oil costs 0c6 more. The price of thin fuel oil (200 degrees) per tonne has been cut by Lm2; thin fuel oil (450 degrees) per tonne has been cut by Lm3; and thin fuel oil (950 degrees) is now cheaper by Lm4.5.
In a statement issued by the Department of Information, the government said the fluctuation in price depended on the price of oil on the international market as well as the exchange rate of the American dollar and the Maltese lira.
