Corporates join forces to meet disadvantaged peoples needs

CSR.jpgEmployees from eight leading organisations will volunteer a day’s work to help charitable institutions on Corporate Social Responsibility Day, organised annually on March 19, which is now in its seventh year. Deloitte., Gasan Group of Companies, HSBC Malta, M. Demajo Group, Middlesea Group, Mizzi Organisation, Simonds Farsons Cisk plc and the Vodafone Malta Foundation will get together to carry out structural works, refurbishment, maintenance and landscaping in various homes hosting adults and children from difficult backgrounds.

This year, volunteers from the M. Demajo Group shall be performing maintenance works at St Patrick’s School in Sliema. Simonds Farsons Cisk and Mizzi Organisation will be helping at Dar Vairita in Marsascala, while Deloitte. will be carrying out works at Ghabex (Appogg Agency) in Fleur-de-Lys. Vodafone Malta employees will be working at Angela House in G’Mangia, Gasan Group at the Richmond Foundation Hostel in Floriana, while Middlesea Group will be at St Joseph Home in Sta Venera. HSBC Malta will be helping at the Good Shepherd Home for Refugees in Balzan, while the HSBC staff in Gozo will be carrying out works at the Arka Foundation in Gozo.

“CSR Day has become an important entry in the calendar of events of participating organisations, which are always increasing,” said the CSR Day Organising Committee. “This joint effort is meant to show that we care and we want to provide a helping hand to homes looking after disadvantaged people in our society and give them the decent life they deserve.”
