The Xaghra Local Council will soon be holding the ninth edition of the Christmas Concert, which this year will be entitled Pax et Gloria. The concert will take place on Thursday the 27th of December at the Basilica of Marija Bambina in Xaghra, Gozo.
For this year's edition, the Xaghra Local Council has invited the Chorus Urbanus to perform a selection of popular and traditional Christmas Carols. They will be interpreting certain carols a cappella and during others, they will be accompanied by an Orchestra which is made up of professional musicians. The Choir and Orchestra will be under the baton of Mro. John Galea.
This concert is being held under the auspicious patronage of the President of Malta, Dr. Edward Fenech Adami. During the soiree', a collection will be held in aid of the Community Chest Fund Malta.
The Council said it is grateful for the invaluable support of the Xaghra Archpriest Mons. Carmelo Refalo and his Collegiate Chapter and also the Cultural Committee within the Gozo Ministry. Financial sponsorship for the Concert is generously being provided by Gozitan and Maltese businesses, individuals and by the Education Ministry.
Everyone is invited for this concert and entrance is free. Those attending are kindly asked to be seated by 7.15pm. For more information you may contact the Xaghra Local Council on 21563737 or visit their website at www.xaghra.com.
