Police seized about 30 cannabis plants in Ghanjnsielem on Monday after a monitoring operation was set up to look out for suspicious movements in the area.
The police were acting on a tip-off and were keeping their eyes on a particular apartment in Ghajnsielem. Police searched the apartment and found some 30 cannabis plants that were being grown inside.
In addition, various drug related paraphernalia were also found inside the building and there were also indications that preparations were under way to plant more seedlings.
Two English men were arrested and taken in for questioning. Duty magistrate Paul Coppini appointed a number of experts to help the inquiry.
