The Very Rev. Can. Joseph A. Borg, member of St George’s Collegiate Chapter, recently flew to Canada to join family and friends on the occasion of Bishop Mario Grech’s pastoral visit in Toronto and Detroit.
Last Sunday, he joined Bishop Grech and Archbishop Thomas Collins of Toronto at concelebrated Mass with Xewkija-born Fr Alfred Gima, parish priest, who is celebrating his fortieth anniversary of priesthood, and Xewkija archpriest Carmel Mercieca, as well as other priests.
Members of Knights of Columbus, of whom the Catholics of America express pride, were in attendance including some friends and family who came from Gozo for this special occasion.
After the Mass the parishioners moved to the church hall where a reception was held to enable the parishioners to greet the Archbishop of Toronto and to talk with Gozo Bishop, Mgr Mario Grech.
