The Bank of Valletta has extended support to Paul Haber who has been selected from a number of international artists to exhibit his ceramic sculptures in a one-man show at the Foyer of the Palais de l'Europe, designed by renowned architect Henry Bernard at the Council of Europe in Strasbourg. The exhibition is being inaugurated on the 4th of September.
Paul Haber is one of the few artists invited to hold an exhibition in this majestic place as exhibitions are usually held within the Art Gallery of the Council of Europe. Having studied in the best art colleges in England and Italy, Mr Haber has also involved himself in education. His latest appointment was that of a ceramics lecturer at MCast, where he shared his expertise in the formation of the young.
The Bank's sponsorship was presented by Fiona Brinkworth, Manager responsible for Quality and Corporate Social Responsibility at Bank of Valletta during a visit to the artist's idyllic studio in Mtahleb. "Supporting the development of Maltese artistic talent and promoting Maltese art is one of the main areas featuring under BOV's Community Programme. This is also an excellent opportunity for the promotion of Malta within the European Union," said Ms. Brinkworth. "We take this opportunity to congratulate Mr Haber for being invited to exhibit at such a prestigious venue, at the hub of the European Union," she added.
"As one of the few artists to to exhibit in the foyer of the Palais de l'Europe, at the Council of Europe, I feel honoured and privileged since this place is frequented by thousand of visitors daily. Our islands are full of talented artists who are making a name for themselves and for our country. However they require support in furthering their careers. I thank Bank of Valletta for their backing, and hope that others will follow in their step to support local talent", concluded Mr Haber.
