Bank of Valletta is supporting yet another Gozitan artist in his solo exhibition under the title "Roots of an Island". Christopher Saliba will be presenting a collection of his works of art at the 'Loggia' in the National Museum of Fine Arts in Valletta. The exhibition will be open to the public between the 5th December, 2007 and the 28th January, 2007.
Presenting the Bank's sponsorship, Jack Thewma, Manager BOV Gozo, praised the artist Christopher Saliba for his ability, talent and skills in depicting his artistic technique.
"This exhibition is an interesting semi-abstract collection which Bank of Valletta has the pleasure to support", Mr Jack Thewma explained. "The Bank has established itself as the leading sponsor in promoting Arts and Culture in Malta and actively seeks to play a principal role in its support towards local talent"
Whilst thanking the Bank for its continuous contribution, Christopher Saliba explained how his recent works are inspired from the beauty spots that characterise the Maltese islands.
The artist specialised in art education at the University of Malta and was later granted a scholarship at the Accademia di Belle Arti, "Pietro Vannucci", in Perugia, Italy. He has also taken part in a number of collective exhibitions and produced various installations and video art. Saliba's works can be found in numerous public and private collections in Malta, Italy, France, UK, Germany, Holland, Luxembourg, USA, Canada and Japan.
