BOV Istrina Campaign in full swing across Gozo and Malta

Istrina-campaign.jpgThe BOV Istrina Campaign 2007 entered into its second phase, with schools all over Malta and Gozo busy collecting funds from schoolchildren in aid of Istrina 2007. Over the past few days various celebrities have been visiting schools in order to encourage schoolchildren to continue making their donations.

The money collected will contribute towards the total funds collected for Istrina 2007. Funds are being collected in over 7,000 piggy banks, which have been distributed in all classes at all schools in Malta and Gozo. Some 65,000 children are participating in the collection this year.

Last year, the total amount collected by school children amounted to Lm8,400, which when added to the funds donated by Bank of Valletta amounted to a total of Lm20,000. Speaking about the collection Michael Galea, Head CEO's Office at Bank of Valletta said that "the response from schools has so far been very encouraging and we are again expecting a good amount to be collected by schools."

The total amount collected by the BOV Istrina Campaign 2007 will be announced during the live TV programme Istrina 2007 will which air on all main television stations on 29th December.
