BOV extends sponsorship to the Transplant Support Group

Transplant.jpgFor the eight consecutive year, Bank of Valletta is the main sponsor of the Transplant Support Group (TSG). BOV has been the main sponsor of this NGO since its inception, in May 2000. Karl Spiteri, Manager, Corporate Branding and Quality at Bank of Valletta presented the sponsorship to James Muscat, Vice President of the Transplant Support Group during a visit to the Renal Unit at Mater Dei Hospital. Mr Spiteri and Mr Muscat were greeted by Tony Bugeja, Nursing Officer and Transplant Coordinator at the Renal Unit.

Mr Spiteri said, "Our long standing support to the Transplant Support Group underlines the importance that the Bank gives to supporting worthy initiatives in the social field." Mr. Spiteri added that BOV acknowledges the valuable work undertaken by the TSG within the Maltese society. "We hope that, through our sustained support, you can continue to encourage more people to register as donors and have more people who can benefit from a better quality of life following a transplant," said Mr. Spiteri.

Mr Muscat said, "One of the most common transplant operations in Malta is the transplant of kidneys. The Transplant Support Group works very closely with the Renal Unit where many of the patients undergo treatment." He explained that the Transplant Support Group gives support to transplantees, those waiting to have an organ transplanted, donors, as well as the families of deceased donors. Mr Muscat thanked Bank of Valletta for its support over the years.
