As a result of the expansion undertaken during the past five years, Bank of Valletta has inaugurated new, modern premises for its Gozo Operations Centre.
Speaking during a visit to the new BOV Gozo Operations Centre premises at Gorg Borg Olivier Street, Victoria, the Bank's Chief Officer - Operations, Igino Xuereb, said, "These new premises, provide our employees an excellent office space and ambience to operate and possibly expand further our Gozo Operations Centre."
"We have today quadrupled the size of the Gozo Operations Centre with all BOV employees residing in Gozo wishing to work here being given this opportunity," said Mr. Xuereb.
The BOV Gozo Operations Centre, now in its fifth year of operation, was the first such operation by a local bank in Gozo. It was opened when BOV was implementing its centralization programme with a number of bank-wide processes being transferred to the Gozo Operation Centre.
Mr. Xuereb said that he was pleased to note the high level of motivation of the Bank's Gozitan employees deployed at the Gozo Operations Centre. He said that the Bank was pleased with the success of its Gozo Operations Centre which, thanks to the deployment of advanced technology, had effectively created and developed new employment opportunities for Gozitans in Gozo.
Today, BOV employs 75 persons who are residents in Gozo.
