Cana-donation.jpgBank of Valletta recently extended its support to the Cana Movement by sponsoring a series of training books for counsellors. The training resources were presented by Joyce Tabone, Manager Quality & CSR at Bank of Valletta during a ceremony celebrating the success of a group of counsellors who completed their first year of studies.

“We trust that the books being sponsored by BOV will help Cana Movement improve the services it offers to the local community,” said Ms. Tabone. “The support the Bank is offering forms an integral part of our Community Programme, through which we offer tangible support to initiatives that are beneficial to the community,” she added.

Thanking Bank of Valletta for its support, Rev. Dr. Joseph Mizzi, Director of the Cana Movement said, “Over the past year we embarked on a major training project which sees 10 established counsellors and another 10 trainees attending a Certificate Level Training Course in Family Therapy with Agenzija Appogg and Tavistock Institute London. Building a sound modern library is essential to consolidate our counsellors’ knowledge base”.

The Cana Counselling Services has been helping couples in difficulty over the past years. More than 900 clients sought counselling services over the past year. Counsellors provide their support on a voluntary basis. However, the Cana Movement invests in their training to ensure that they are well-equipped to provide the required assistance.
