The BOV Staff Suggestion Scheme attracted more than 1,500 suggestions from BOV employees during the financial year of 2007. The Best Suggestion for 2007 was submitted by Johann Ferrando who proposed the introduction of a comprehensive policy to act as cover for one of the products within the BOV Personal Loan suite. As a result of this suggestion, the Bank has enhanced its product suite with the introduction of a new product - the BOV Payment Protection Insurance. He was presented with a certificate and a prize in recognition of his most valid contribution towards the organization by Igino Xuereb, Chief Officer, Operations at Bank of Valletta. Mr. Xuereb said, "The Staff Suggestion Scheme is a valuable tool that enables our employees to put forward ideas on how we can improve the customer experience by sharpening our internal processes." Mr. Xuereb said that the large number of suggestions received during financial year 2007 underlines a high degree of employee commitment, a factor that is welcomed and encouraged by the Bank's management.
