Archbishop Emeritus Joseph Mercieca and Gozo Bishop Mario Grech will attend the Consistory of Cardinals called by Pope Benedict XVI , which is being held tomorrow at the Vatican.
During the consistory, the cardinals will give their advice over the canonisation of five blessed, including Dun Gorg Preca, who founded the Society of Christian Doctrine, Museum.
Archbishop Paul Cremona has ordered that all churches should ring their bells for 15 minutes at noon on Friday and also light up their facades in the evening.
He has also given priests permission to celebrate, on Friday, the votive Mass of Blessed Gorg Preca, which is usually celebrated on his liturgical feast of May 9th.
A circular issued by the Curia also proposed the holding of a thanksgiving adoration using prayers of Blessed Gorg Preca today or tomorrow.
