Bishop Mgr Mario Grech celebrates his 50th birthday today. He was born in Qala and grew up in Kercem where he attended the Carmelite Sisters School and Kercem Primary School. He later went on to attend the Victoria Secondary School and studied philosophy and theology at the Gozo Seminary.
Mgr Grech then continued his studies in Rome at the Lateran University and the St Thomas Aquinas University, he also worked in Church tribunals and in the Sacra Romana Rota.
He was consecrated as the eighth Bishop of Gozo on the 22nd of January last year.
