The Ta' Dbiegi artisan village at Gharb was inaugurated yesterday after an embellishment programme costing Lm70,000, 75 per cent of which was provided by the European Union.
The village shops will specialise in the manufacture of artisan objects and not be souvenir shops, said Parliamentary Secretary Edwin Vassallo at the inauguration ceremony.
The area has been expanded and works done on the pavements, lights and street furniture, as part of this embellishment project.
