As the feast season begins, Archbishop Paul Cremona has appealed to all citizens, that this year being Pauline Year, we have to live our feasts in the light of the spirituality inherited by St Paul.
The Archbishop said that our feasts can be described in one word, 'happiness,' and this happiness has to be spread in the light of our faith, keeping in mind that each feast is dedicated to the Mystery of a Divinity, to the life of Jesus Christ or some other saint including St Mary, the Mother of God.
The Archbishop went on to say that he is conscious that all those persons who work to organise the feasts sacrifice their time and are truly committed, however this effort is not always done with a Christian spirit.
The Archbishop therefore appealed to persons of good will to actively start celebrating feasts giving priority to its religious element.
The Archbishop concluded by saying that his appeal was a simple attempt to voice his wish to diminish everything that could obscure the real values of our feasts. "I dream and hope that one day in our feasts we will get close to St Paul's words: that all that remains in our happiness is that which brings love".
