AD and the 64 applicants who have mounted a legal challenge to the way in which the rationalisation exercise was carried out, state that they are not disheartened by the Court’s refusal to issue a warrant of prohibitory injunction to prevent the coming into effect of permits on the extended building zones.
AD Chairperson Harry Vassallo said, “The refusal of the warrant is only a temporary setback, a disappointment for the ordinary citizen and the general public who have to surmount extraordinary procedural and legal difficulties and judicial conservatism whenever they try to see that their rights are safeguarded.”
Mr Vassallo concluded, “Our legal challenge continues unabated with the court case we have instituted and we now look forward to our opportunity to bring evidence which will show that EU Directives were not adhered to. It might be a long process, but we are prepared for it as ultimately we are certain that we are right.”
