Alternattiva Demokratika has issued a statement congratulating Fr. Paul Cremona on his appointment as the new Archbishop of Malta.
Mr. Victor Galea, Secretary General for AD said that “Whilst thanking Guzeppi Mercieca for his work in favor of social solidarity and environmental commitment in the Maltese islands, we wish him a much deserved retirement following years of constant work”.
AD encourages the new Bishop, Fr. Paul Cremona, to continue the work of Guzeppi Mercieca, particularly the Church’s environmental commitments.
AD looks forward to meet and work closely with the new Bishop in matters that both AD and the Church can collaborate.
Dr. Harry Vassallo, Chairperson of AD reiterated that “The Church’s role in Maltese society is vital since the values of solidarity preached by the Church itself must always play an important role in any decision made on any level. This is why the Greens are eager to work closely with the new Bishop, and ensure that such values are also present in politics.”
