The Electoral Commission notifies Administrators of Old Peoples’ Homes as follows:
The voting document belongs to the person to whom it has been issued and whoever is in illegal possession of a voting document would be committing a crime.
Although no influence should be exercised on the residents of these Homes, Administrators shall ensure that on polling day there should be free access to residents who are to cast their vote as well as to those authorised persons who are to accompany them to the polling places - if the voters themselves prefer so.
On polling day ONLY relatives of residents to whom a permit has been issued by the Electoral Commission may be allowed to enter.
