Alternattiva Demokrattika - The Green Party has issued a statement saying that it condemns all forms of cruelty to animals.
Referring to the incident which took place between Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th May at San Gwann when a dog was burnt alive, Simon Galea - AD Spokesperson on Agriculture and Animal Welfare emphasised the need for harsher penalties plus an education campaign on a national level.
While praising the San Gwann Local Council for the public appeal asking for information anyone can have in order for the Police to arraign the culprit, Mr Galea suggested that Local Councils should get more actively involved in Animal Welfare Awareness by organizing more activities related to the issue.
Mr Galea concluded by saying that the way we treat animals reflects the level of respect we have towards each other.

Well done to Gozo News for publishing this story, we couldn’t agree with you more.
The culprit(s) MUST be caught and made to pay for such cruelty, I wish I could turn the table round and burn the culprit(s) alive myself.
