The 'Lejlet Lapsi Notte Gozitana' event seems to have enticed many people over to Gozo this weekend. The number of vehicles boarding the ferry from Cirkewwa stood at 3,064 with 12,147 passengers between Friday and noon on Saturday. On an average weekend at this time of year, around 1,500 to 1,800 vehicles usually cross over to Gozo.
The weekend of events started with a wine festival at the Citadel on Friday. Six stages were set up in Sabina Square , Independence Square, St George's Square , St Augustine Square, St Francis Square and the Republic Street crossroads, offering the general public a wide range of cultural activities, including different musical concerts for the enjoyment of audiences of all ages.
