A total of 1,780 new weapons were registered in Gozo and Malta last year, Home Affairs Minister Tonio Borg said in reply to a parliamentary question put by Adrian Vassallo (MLP).
The minister said that the weapons included 102 air pistols, 251 air rifles, 281 pistols, 40 revolvers, four machine guns, a mortar and 21 muzzle guns.
There were also 20 paintball guns, 419 rifles, 363 shotguns, six muskets, 269 harpoon guns and two swords.
