Earlier this afternoon, the Armed forces of Malta's Operations' Centre at Luqa Barracks was informed by the Gozo Police Headquarters in Victoria that an injured individual required immediate urgent medical evacuation from the Blue Lagoon's area on the island of Comino.
An AFM Air Wing Alouette rescue helicopter was immediately scrambled into the air, and dispatched to the scene. Hungarian born Peter Kolzkza, aged 15, was found by rescuer Lance Bombardier Thadeus Dimech to have a dislodged knee.
The teenager was immediately taken to Mater Dei Hospital for the required urgent medical treatment.
