As part of its work programme encompassing the conservation, maintenance and protection of local heritage sites, Victoria Local Council has recently upgraded the protection of the Banca Giuratale by installing six cctv cameras which constantly monitor all activities going on around the perimeter of the premises.
The council said that this ensures that any trouble or vandalism which could possibly happen to the building will be immediately detected and recorded.
The council together with partners from Italy, Greece and Cyprus, have submitted a project under the Archimed programme to receive financial and technical assistance for the recording and protection of the various historical sites situated in Victoria.
The project also outlines interesting ways and means of promoting these sites to the general public. A definititive answer regarding this application should be officially communicated to the council by October.
