Paul Falzon makes his debut in opera scenery

Paul Falzon painting – Act III, La BohèmeThe audience that filled to capacity the Aurora Opera House for Puccini's La Bohème could not fail to admire the stage set. This was mostly the latest artistic endeavour of the young and upcoming artist Paul Falzon. It was Paul A. Stellini, the set designer, who invited Falzon to help him execute the scenery for the four acts of Puccini's masterpiece.

Falzon and Stellini worked for three whole weeks to execute the set design for the large stage of the Aurora Opera House. Falzon had previously executed sets for several operettas staged at his native village of Xewkija, but this was the first time that he was involved, thanks to Stellini, on such an important production.

The scenery was well-received by local and foreign patrons and Novella Tabilli, the Italian artistic director, was more than satisfied with the young artist's debut in the opera field.ActIII, La Bohème

I was there! it was such a good show! Scenery, Choir, Singers, props, orchestra…all was splendid.

I was quite amazed with Noel Galea’s contribution in the opera in the part of Colline. He stole the evening…and the applause given, proves this!. He sounded so professional… and the acting was superb.

I also liked Marzio Giossi in the part of Marcello. he was so confident on stage.

Well done to Aurora Opera house. Gozitans should be proud of such unique productions!

    Manuel
