The University Gozo Centre will be organising its annual summer activity, entitled 'An Evening with Island Brass' on this coming Friday, the 5th of September 2008.
'Island Brass' was formed during the summer of 2004 on the initiative of Antoine Theuma and its inaugural concert was held on the 11th of February, 2005. The five members of the brass quintet are Jason Camilleri (trumpet in Bb), Don Gates (trumpet in Bb), George Camilleri (euphonium), Andrew Portelli (trombone) and Antoine Theuma (tuba).
The programme will include several well-known musical pieces. Soprano Ms Georgina Gauci will also be participating. During the evening the ensemble will perform music by Bizet (Carmen); Marquina (Spanish Gypsy Dance); Curtis/Di Chiara/Capua (Nostalgie di Napoli); Andrew Lloyd Weber (All I Ask of You); Leroy Anderson (Bugler's Holiday), Irving Berlin (Puttin' On The Ritz), among others.
The general public is invited to attend and those present will be provided with a highly entertaining evening.
