This Sunday Cardinal Ennio Antonelli, His Holiness Pope Benedict’s XVI envoy, visited Gozo accompanied by the Bishop of Gozo, Mgr Mario Grech, and other dignitaries.
The Cardinal arrived in Gozo on a private yacht and was welcomed at Mgarr by the Minister for Gozo, Giovanna Debono. Cardinal Antonelli is visiting Gozo and Malta to celebrate the closure of the Pauline Year.
His Eminence first celebrated Pontifical Mass at the Collegiate Basilica of St Peter and St Paul in Nadur, on the occasion of the feast celebrated in honour of the patron saints of the village.
From Nadur he travelled to Munxar where he met families from the village at Munxar Parish Church. Later on Sunday afternoon the Cardinal returned to Malta.
Cardinal Antonelli is also the President of the Pontifical Council for the Family.
