1. The Xaghra Scout Group commemorated the first anniversary since its re-activation. This event was celebrated as part of the programme of activities in commemorating St. John Bosco, the Patron Saint of Youth. In this event included a scout parade from their H.Q. to the parish church.

2. The Gozo bishop emeritus, Mgr. Nikola G. Cauchi presided over the blessing ceremony of the two bells at the chapel dedicated to the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, locally known as Taz-Zejt, at Gharb.

Colour, youthful enthusiasm and a host of events, many involving children, greeted President George Abela when he officially opened this year’s Lejlet Lapsi, Notte Gozitana in Victoria, Gozo.

The stops during included the Sports Complex for the annual Skolasport event; Saint Francis Square for a display by the Sbandieratori della Contrade della Cerva of Venice; the Gozo Ministry; the Bishop’s Curia; Independence Square and Cathedral Square at the Citadel.

President George Abela was shown around several exhibitions and saw children painting and playing music.
