The Philatelic Bureau of Maltapost plc will be issuing an Occasion Card on the 30th of April 2009, on the occasion of the 5th anniversary of Malta’s accession in the European Union.
This Card carries an imprinted stamp (mint condition) of Euro 1.20 value showing former Prime Minister Eddie Fenech Adami and former Foreign Minister Joe Borg signing the Accession Treaty in Athens way back in 2003.
A special postmark – Malta – EU Accession – 5th Anniversary, will also be available from the Valletta branch in Castille Place (Dar Annona) on the same date.
This Occasion Card will be available in mint format from all MaltaPost branches in Malta and Gozo including the Mobile Unit, while pre-cancelled cards with the special postmark will be available from the same points from Tuesday, the 5th of May 2009.
